Overview

Two Lions,
One School

The logo of Vincenzo Capirola High School combines a wordmark with the pictogram of two stylophorous lions — ancient stone sculptures standing in front of the Abbey in the town of Leno, near Brescia. More than decorative elements, these lions carry deep historical and cultural significance.

Vincenzo Capirola — The Concept
01 — Concept

The Concept

The design process began with the stylophorous lions of Leno Abbey — guardians of knowledge and symbols of the town's identity. Their distinctive manes, rendered with diamond-shaped wave patterns, became the visual signature of the pictogram: a geometric abstraction of heritage, strength and institutional authority.

The Logo System

The logo works across scales and contexts — from wall-mounted signage in the school's conference room to outdoor billboard applications. The colour system combines institutional navy blue with a bold academic yellow, nodding to the historical portrait of Vincenzo Capirola himself.

Stationery & Wayfinding

The identity extends into a complete stationery system — business cards, letterhead, envelopes and Open Day brochures. A wayfinding icon system was also developed to help students and visitors navigate the school's different academic programmes: Liceo Scientifico, Liceo Linguistico and Liceo delle Scienze Umane.
